Two words that have led to some of the best ideas ever.
What if . . . we try a new direction?
What if . . . we risk something?
What if . . . we do something no one has ever tried before?
What if . . . ?
Some other people had ideas that sounded crazy at first.
| Sell little red ribbons to raise money and show solidarity for those with Aids? Who’s going to pay five or ten dollars for two cents worth of red ribbon and a pin. | |
| Ask GMHC and AMFAR about the millions raised and the public support generated by these simple little red ribbons. | |
| Sell rubber band bracelets over the internet to cure cancer? | |
| Ask Lance Armstrong and the Live Strong Foundation how much these “rubber bands” have raised for cancer research and treatment. | |
| Get Baseball and Football players to wear pink? They will never do it, and even if they did what’s the point anyway? | |
| Ask the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Komen for the Cure how much Breast Cancer awareness has risen. | |

Generating small donations through a web campaign? A waste of time! Everyone knows raising money in politics is all about bundling large donations, working the phones and hitting the rubber chicken circuit. |
| Just don’t tell that to the President. | |
All of these ideas and others came from someone saying “What if . . . ?”
